QUESTIONS
If you need any help, we are available to answer your question.
Insane Paintball is a field paint only (FPO) playing facility, but you will find that we sell only high grade paintballs that shoot accurately and do not break in the guns. We sell non oil based paintballs that do not stain or cause problems when cleaning like many cheap paintballs tend to do.
Most people hardly feel when they get shot due to their adrenaline flowing, but most hits feel like getting popped with a rubber band. If you wear the right clothing that is baggy and thick and protect your hands, head, and neck, you shouldn’t have an issue with it hurting. For paintball rental players we use a slightly smaller ball that has much less impact than the larger high impact paintballs that many people are familiar with. They shoot the same as the larger paintballs but have minimal sting due to the size which makes it fun for everyone. We recommend paintball for ages 8 and up.
Airsoft hits feel very similar to paintball hits at long range but from close range they can sting a bit more since the bb does not break like a paintball. We recommend airsoft for ages 12 and up.
Yes you can. Many players come out by themselves and team up with other players who have come to do the same, as it is a great way to make new friends. If you have never played before you may want to bring a friend, as you will probably have more fun with someone you know, but all players are welcome to come out alone and our friendly staff will be glad to help you find players to team up with.
Baggy clothing that is comfortable to run and work out in is the best. Loose fitting pants and shirts tend to absorb the impact of the ball which lessens the sting of getting shot. Most players wear old jeans, sweat pants, or BDUs for their bottoms and long sleeve t-shirts, jackets, or hoodies are great for the upper body. For shoes, old tennis shoes, boots, or cleats work fine, and many players like to wear a beanie or hat for head protection.
Just call our Chattanooga retail store at 423-624-2121 and we will get you booked. Prices and information are available on our website in the “Groups” section located in the main menu or at the bottom of the paintball and airsoft information pages on our website.
We recommend that all players be at least 8 years old to participate in paintball games. If you are confident that children younger than 8 will follow the rules, will be ok getting shot, and the safety masks fit them properly they can play.
Actually paintball is statistically one of the safest sports you can play. Recent studies by independent insurance companies have proven that paintball is actually safer, based on number of injuries per year, than golf, bowling, and tennis.
Yes, our insurance requires players to use a barrel blocking device to ensure that players are safe when not on a field. We recommend barrel covers because they attach to the gun and can not be shot out, but barrel plugs are ok as well.
No, but we recommend that you wear old clothes because you will be crawling, kneeling, and playing outdoors. Dirt from the fields is more likely to show on your clothes after you play than the paintballs themselves. Paintballs are water based, non toxic, and bio-degradable so you have nothing to worry about.
Yes, we rent all the necessary gear and safety equipment such as guns, tanks and masks. All you need to provide is the clothing you want to play in for the day. We do offer chest protectors as an upgrade rental if you would like to have one of those as well.
Yes, we fill both CO2 and Compressed air up to 4500psi.
Airsoft uses 6mm plastic or biodegradable bb pellets that do not break on impact like a paintball. Airsoft requires the honor system by calling “hits” when shot where paintballs mark an opponent so you immediately know when you shoot a player. Pros to airsoft are that it is not messy, bb’s are very inexpensive since they are just small plastic balls, and the guns look like real firearms. Cons to airsoft are that it requires an honor system to know when someone is hit, it is hard to see the bb’s fly once they leave the barrel of the gun, and the airsoft guns are more difficult to work on than paintball guns as well as larger and a bit more cumbersome for smaller players. Both sports are very fun and offer something for everyone. We recommend paintball for ages 8 and up and airsoft for ages 12 and up.
Yes, but they must be biodegradable only. Any players caught shooting non bio BB's will be ejected without refund and banned from the facility. No exceptions!

We recommend that all players be at least 12 years old to participate in airsoft games. If you are confident that children younger than 12 will follow the rules, can handle the larger-sized guns, will be ok getting shot by higher velocity bb’s, and the safety masks fit them properly they will be allowed to play. We recommend Low Impact Paintball for ages 8-12 and Dart Tag (Nerf) for ages 5-8.

Airsoft uses 6mm plastic or biodegradable bb pellets that do not break on impact like a paintball. The guns look realistic and they are true to life scale. Airsoft guns can either run off rechargeable batteries, spring pressure, or “green gas” which is like propane. Being honest and calling “hits” when shot is very important in airsoft because there is no way to tell if someone is marked or shot. Pros to airsoft are that it is not messy, bb’s are very inexpensive since they are just small plastic balls, and the guns look like real firearms. Cons to airsoft are that it requires an honor system to know when someone is hit, it is hard to see the bb’s fly once they leave the barrel of the gun, and the airsoft guns are more difficult to work on than paintball guns. Airsoft guns are also a bit larger and more difficult to handle for smaller kids. We recommend players be at least 12 years old to play airsoft. Unfortunately, due to our scheduling of groups for Dart Tag all groups must play first then have their party time afterwards.
No, we currently only offer private groups with reservations.
Players can bring their own blasters but for Nerf we only offer regular size darts. If using Rival guns or mega darts you will need to provide your own ammo.
We provide picnic tables, the blasters, darts or ammo, and safety eye protection (or full mask for gelball). All birthday items such as decorations, cups, plates, utensils, etc. are not provided.
Yes, you are welcome to bring any food, drinks (no alcohol), cake, ice cream, etc that you prefer for private parties.
Clothing that is cool, easy to run in, and comfortable is best. Please wear closed-toed shoes.
We recommend players be at least 5 years old to play Nerf and 6 years old to play Gel Ball.
We staff our groups and book our parties based on the number of players that are paid for at the time of reservation. Due to holding equipment and staffing your group based on this number, we do not issue a credit or refund for players that are paid for but do not show up. However, for Platoon Paintball packages that are paid on a per-person basis, we will give your group the 500-round bags of paintballs for each player that did not come so you can split them among your group. For “Special Operator”, “Young Guns”, and “Airsoft Assault” parties, any additional players that were paid for at booking will not be refunded or credited.
No. In our experience players bringing their own equipment for a private group tends to cause several issues ranging from an unfair advantage, equipment malfunctions that delay gameplay, and higher paint consumption for the player(s) using their own gear. It also ensures all players are on a level playing field so they can have a great experience that is fun for everyone. Please contact Insane Paintball if you have any questions about this policy.
All groups are scheduled on a first come first served basis. We will do everything we can to fit your group in a time slot that works best for you but the sooner you book the more options you will have. Saturdays tend to book up the quickest.
The sooner the better but we ask for a minimum of 48 hours' notice so that we can be sure to have staff ready.
We can schedule groups any day of the week at any time. If you schedule during the weekend there will be other players playing but your games will run separately with just the players in your group on the field. Weekday groups have the best chance of having the entire facility alone unless another private group is booked that day.
Payments are due in full at the time of booking for the number of players that you plan on having in your group. Payments are non-refundable, but you can transfer to a different date with 24-hour minimum notice. If you have extra players on the day of the group you can pay for them that day, but the equipment is guaranteed only for players that have been paid for at the time of reservation. Any players you pay for are non-refundable if they do not show up. Please refer to the FAQ “What if fewer players show up than I paid for?” to get more information on how we handle groups who have players that do not arrive for the party.
You are welcome to reschedule without penalty if you call at least 24 hours in advance to let us know you want to move your group to a different date. No shows on the day of the event will lose their payment. Payments for cancellations are non-refundable.
We play rain or shine. Parties have a pavilion to use during their group time. If weather is forecasted to be bad, you are welcome to contact us with a 24 hour notice to reschedule your group for a different day with no penalty.
We ask that groups check in 30 minutes before their scheduled start time so that we can ensure waivers are signed and you have time to set up any party decorations, food, etc.
Yes, all players must sign an online waiver before participating in any activity. We have them available to fill out on our website and on site. For players under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign the waiver also.
Yes, you can purchase additional paintballs and bb’s for your group if you run out of the ones supplied with the group package. This is not a requirement though.
We include a semi-automatic gun, air tank, unlimited air fills, hopper, barrel cover, and a full face mask.
We include a high-quality airsoft rifle, high cap magazine, full face protection, and a barrel cover.
The party barrack pavilions include a minimum of 2 picnic tables and a serving table for your group to have a party and keep your belongings during play.
For Paintball Platoon and Paintball Special Operator packages you are welcome to switch over and play with other “walk on” players once your private playing time is up as long as we do not need the rental equipment for another group that is scheduled after yours. Airsoft Assault packages always play with public walk-on players if booked during regular open times since we only have one airsoft field. Weekday paintball and airsoft groups are complete once the private playing time is over.
Yes, you can make up teams however you wish and swap players to different teams each game if you want to do so.
You can play any style game that you want to play or we can assist with offering different game formats such as capture the flag, elimination, attack and defend, etc.
Yes, if playing paintball you will have access to all available paintball fields. If playing Airsoft you will have access to our large Airsoft area and if available at the time additional playing fields.
Yes, we have a printable invitation on the group page of the website.
Yes, your group can bring any food or drinks that you wish to have or you can bring a grill and cook some burgers and dogs.
Yes, we have snacks available in the retail store consisting of water, soft drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks, candy bars, chips, etc. We do not offer any hot foods.
We can assist in catering an event if you need help doing so although we do not have any specific options that we use on a regular basis.
Sorry, but the rates will not be reduced if players bring their own gear. Many times we see players have problems with their gear and they end up needing ours before the day is out so it is easiest to have the price include everything if it is needed.
Yes, all of our fields have spectator areas where they will not get hit with a paintball or bb. There is no charge for spectators to watch games.

Cons to airsoft are that it requires an honor system to know when someone is hit, it is hard to see the bb’s fly once they leave the barrel of the gun, and from close range they tend to have more sting if not wearing proper clothing. At our facility airsoft is played indoors only on one large field if booking a party on the weekend while paintball is played indoor and outdoor on various fields. Both sports are very fun and offer something for everyone.
